Read All Over is an organization that calls for children in schools and organizations across the nation to reach out to others and promote peace through sharing books. We accomplish this by helping kids to organize and promote book drives - and donating the books for other kids to read and enjoy.

OKAY, SO WHAT DOES ALL THAT STUFF REALLY MEAN?

>> For Read All Over, "Nurturing the dreams of children" means to really listen to the ideas of kids, to treat them as important, and to encourage kids not just to dream - but to do something about their ideas.

>> "Empowering people through literacy" means to encourage each person to read and write to their very best ability.


>> When Read All Over says its mission is to "Enable peace on Earth" (this is a biggie, we know!), here is what we mean: Each of us here at Read All Over makes a promise. Everyday, we will do our best to listen to other people. We will take the time to think about what it might be like to be that other person. We will try to understand people who are different from us. We promise to do what we can to make changes, big or small, so that more people feel happy and included.

It doesn't sound like much, does it? But think about it: What would happen if everybody made this promise?
